HISTORY
The Society was founded in June 1948 by a former member Sam Ryder. Of the 24 who attended, John Stevens (now a member of the Bristol Club) is the sole surviving founder member who still takes an active interest in the affairs of the Society; he is an honorary member, and presented the awards at our 1998 Open Show held in September.
Since then the club has gone from strength to strength, and is affiliated to the Federation of British Aquatic Societies.
After 60 years the Society has now changed its name from Plymouth & District Aquarists' and Pondkeepers' Society to Plymouth Fishkeepers' Society.
